Akwaaba (Welcome) Wellness offers Community Breastfeeding Support Groups once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. This is free to the public and the location is at a local city park. We also offer Virtual Breastfeeding Classes and Virtual Lactation Consultations. We have scholarships and use a sliding fee scale to determine your ability to pay. We offer a Free 15 minute lactation call to answer your quick questions.
Virtual / In Person Neighborhood Breastfeeding Support Groups 12 noon on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We meet up at a local park to give away diapers and advice to families that need support. Families can come to learn, and share their breastfeeding experiences with other lactating families. Lactation Consultant available to answer your questions and to provide support and education.

Pea Pod Nutrition and Lactation Support, Inc. is dedicated to the nutritional health of women and children. We specialize in maternal nutrition with a focus on pre-natal, post-natal and lactation support as well as all aspects of pediatric nutrition. We offer an array of services to women and children including nutritional counseling, breastfeeding education, office based and in-home lactation consultations, group breastfeeding classes, group nutrition classes, cooking classes and gardening classes. At Pea Pod we believe that supporting and educating mothers how to optimally nourish themselves and their children is the cornerstone to a healthy community. Our commitment to this belief is the foundation of the non-profit arm of our organization, the Pea Pod Assistance Program (PPAP), which provides low-cost and/or free nutrition and lactation education and support to low-income women and children.

Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for East Central Public Health Department. Coordinates WIC breastfeeding promotional activities, serves on CSRA Breastfeeding Coalition. Provides breastfeeding education and support to WIC Clients. Pump loans available to mothers returning to work or school, experiencing medical separations from infants, or breastfeeding problems where a pump may be warranted. Lactation consultations may be arranged by appointment only. WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors offer breastfeeding encouragement and support through clinic visits, contacts by phone, text, or email and home or clinic visits to help with breastfeeding problems.

We offer bedside consultations for infants and mothers in our Mother/Baby Unit, NlCU, PICU and Children's Hospital of Georgia Pediatric floors. Breastfeeding help is available during routine well-baby visits for general breastfeeding support and for mothers and infants experiencing difficult latch, poor weight gain, painful breastfeeding, low milk supply and other concerns. In addition, consult prenatal appointments for mothers who have a history of breastfeeding difficulties, are expecting multiples or adoptive mothers considering induction of lactation are available.
Baby Basics offers a variety of guidance and support for families preparing for the birth birth of their child and during those first years of life. As a certified prenatal educator and certified breastfeeding specialist, Megan offers breastfeeding preparation classes and breastfeeding support in the comfort of the client's home. With over 20 years of experience in maternal-fetal and pedatric medicine as a nurse, Megan also provides a variety of support services for families navigating parenthood including newborn education, baby care classes, and infant CPR/safety training. Megan is currently working on obtaining IBCLC certification and has completed advanced training in Tethered Oral Tissues.
